Sony Fever

I want to see the blue sky
I want to feel the breeze
I want to hear the summer wind
Singing in the trees
Put my troubles in my right hand
Hold them up
And let them go
Let them float and drift away
On a sweet summer day
Secret wishes, big dreams
Can you almost taste it?
Pretty little rainbow curved across
With ethereal sunlight at the edge
Little moments caught on camera
Brings ethereal feelings of bliss

Singapore March Escapade
Meet this cute little bugger I met on my last visit to Singapore. Apparently the baby hardly smiles at strangers and makes weird faces in pictures but not here. Aww.
Now meet the baby's mother.Am just kidding. Haha those who know Mrs Gan, don't have a heart attack. She hasn't given birth to any kids YET. We were at MOS Burger at my request, the Parkway Parade branch at her request. Just had a craving for those fries. Looking young as ever!

I dropped by SAJC to capture pictures for a
Photojournalism assignment. Extra bonus finding out my sisters' A Level results. Congratulations to them! My favourite photo of the trip (composition-wise): checking results over a sea of other graduates.
Welcome back from Silicon Valley, Kah Meng! Always a joker. Always a big bully. But always enjoyable conversations. We had breakfast at Ikea and the hot dogs were yum. The queue was scarily long. People should go pressure him to cut his hair, I almost didn't recognise him with his Ray-Ban shades and wavy hair.
Tuan and Sherly induce uncontrollable laughter. Thanks for the gossips and adult talk. Innocent-looking people? *ahem*

Visited Red Dot Design Museum.
Got painted by a bunch of artists.
We are a bunch of fidgety and talkative models. Seriously must applaud the artists for drawing as well as they did in under 15 minutes. A fresh experience!

We also had a destress drawing session of our own!
Limited edition umbrella painted by our very own Eddie and Sherly. Sherly, we always knew had artistic flair, but my, Eddie has hidden talents!
Anyone using such a cheery umbrella won't be moping!-Stop moping design by Eddie Chin-

ASWARA: Stepping Out
Me and dance. How I always run into this topic. My first opportunity to capture dance photography was at a dance concert themed 'Stepping Out' held in Aswara. And it was Amazing. After all this while, I finally got to join in the "photographers' conversation" and challenge myself with a camera instead of a pen.
My favourite shot from the second night. I went there knowing what shots I wanted to get and what feeling I wanted to achieve and I got this.
Mesmerizingly haunting. With no audience in the seats. Just the perfect mood, feel and lighting, awesome.
My 2nd favourite shot.Everybody feels a little bit like this sometimes in life.
I adore capturing pensive moments. There's just something about their stance, their facial expression that makes you wonder what's going on in the person's mind. The beauty of it is you can imagine their thoughts and create a whole new interpretation of your own.

I almost missed this shot even after I planned to capture it on the second night. Thank goodness for quick fingers, fast focusing and the perfect seat. Compare this to the shot I got on the first night below and feel the difference. Luckily I changed the framing.

No one should ever be blocked like the guy on the left in dance photography!

Another example how knowledge of the choreography beforehand helps with my shots. First night, the tables were on my far right. Created an interesting pattern but not to my liking.

Ahh much better the second night. Better lines. Dance coupled with stage lights is just so pretty. Spotlight shots are easier to handle, wait till I get the hang of movement photography.

Dancers in itself create pretty pictures, beautiful shapes and forms so dance photography is a given beauty. Besides lighting, the skill of the photographer and his equipment are the main obstacles to good shots especially the non-existent skills of beginners like me haha.

Who better to learn from than an old friend who has had a camera perpetually stuck to his side? Haven't seen
Vino (left of pic) in awhile so the night was all good =)
