Twin Invasion

So adorable! Evangeline's got a cheeky smile in the photo, she's got something up her sleeves. What is she hiding from us? Make your guess.

Escapade

Semester has been going on for three weeks already and I'm just blogging about my last holidays oops! Which involved lots of mayhem in Kampar and Ipoh. Part of the gang - Jolene, Lilean and Kok Hao came over to visit me in my little kampung which I am such a bad tour guide of (as claimed by everyone haha).

A trip to my place would not be complete without chilling in the frigid waters of the Batu Berangkai waterfall. It's walking distance from my house! And uphill! I enjoyed putting them through the torture of *ahem* I mean introducing the healthy lifestyle of walking up the steep hill surrounded by natural green forests. They made it. Nobody died. Haha.

Of course another thing we can't do without on a trip like this is FOOD! Makan makan sini sana. We tried to gobble up everything Kampar and Ipoh had to offer. From min pao kai to dim sum to tauge chicken. Those dim sum with prawns in it were just fantastic. Throw in ais kacang and satay too. Best way to bond over satisfied tummys.

The trip didn't run 100% smoothly. Car problems, anyone? Three different cars breaking down at three different locations. Gosh. My family's car is 32 years old and still running, mind you. We had a hilarious time trying to start the car and failing badly with the car starting to roll down the slope. Had to make emergency calls to my mom for instructions (she was in Penang at the time and my dad in Kedah).

Oh by the way, I was kidding about the breakdowns but we did have problems starting my family's car. We flipped through my family's old photo albums and found this ancient picture of my brother, cousin and I taken during the last time our car broke down on our way to Singapore. Looks like I was 6 years old? Anyway, we decided to recreate the scenario three times with three different cars. That is the sign of crazy people having nothing better to do.

Claudia and Theresa joined us when our little gang arrived in Ipoh. We discovered a large number of dog lovers amongst us so we paid a visit to Theresa's home and played with her cute furry little dog, Jacky! Absolutely adorable and so friendly! Too hyper to keep still for photos though =D

We also paid a visit to my childhood playground - Kellie's castle. It's a huge abandoned mansion which has been beautified for tourism purposes hence the fresh paint. I remember having tons of adventures exploring the place as a kid and going back there so many years later is kind of nostalgic. A big kid roaming around with other big kids!

Jolene's friend, Matt was kind enough to be our tour guide for the day and we took really scenic pictures as well as some "girl band" ones. I'll be showing them to my dad when I get the chance, I'm sure he'll get a kick out of them =D

Here's us trying to be daredevils jumping on the roof that has absolutely no railings to prevent people from falling over. Pretty cool picture which sums up the whole trip: FUN! Next trip: Malacca!

Circumstances

Last semester was tough. But this semester is set to be a killer.

Last semester, I finally took Bahasa Kebangsaan (Malay language) which is compulsory for me since I don't have an SPM certificate. Definitely a class I struggled to attend haha but my work paid off. Freaking A take that! I miss Cikgu Zain's classes back in secondary school =)

This semester, I will be busy with:

I completed a video called Innocent Feet for my first Video Production assignment and Yean Ching, Seetha, Zee and Tuan sort of made 'guest appearances' in it haha. Can't wait to show them. Yean Ching and Tuan are the main characters. Once they see it, they will either laugh themselves to death at the absurdity of it all OR they will come after me with parangs! =D

Dedicated to the ex-housemates

During the holidays, I waved goodbye to Wei Way and Priyal, my beloved housemates for one and a half years. Time was short but it sure did encompass a heck lot of memories. And a lot of those funny moments centered around this wonderful contraption called - television.

It started with claims that I was a couch potato (but there’s no couch in our apartment so should we call me a floor potato?). TV was my only source of entertainment (mainly So You Think You Can Dance) until I got my desktop. Then the two of them started becoming floor potatoes themselves when Astro cable TV arrived! Woohoo!

Debates over The Simpsons ensued. The Friends addiction was fed. How I Met Your Mother was discovered. Ugly Betty was introduced into the world of the original floor potato. CSI Vegas ruled over the rest of the CSIs. E! became repetitive. Desperate Housewives seduced.

And then there came American Idol. The fuel of all drama.
I shall not
elaborate on the drama. It will be kept amongst the three of us.
Wei Way is now helping to put our votes across. Hooray Smokey Mountains!
Words are fast failing me so I'll leave snippets of sentences.

One year ago, when we all just met
Rain that always comes after laundry

How different our room arrangements back then
The joy when one of us cleans the floor or bathroom or kitchen

Before my room's makeover
Internet that conks out when a certain someone plugs in :P

Blue certainly makes the room more inviting, doesn't it?
Movie screenings in the perfect room environment.

Weirdo antics that Priyal laughs at all the time
Can opener, eggs, potato soup, mushrooms, oranges, red bean soup and expired bread

And never will I forget this terharu moment and all the chats, missing y'all
Humour is the best defense mechanism for .....
