If You Could Bottle Up Happiness

This is for bumping off my happy Peter Pan pic.
Yes, the black shirt looks good on you.
By the way, this post is inspired by Sherly

I am thankful. For..
Friends who offer roofs over my head and cosy beds.
Friend who extends their stay just to hang out longer.
Friend who tells me the difference between bus stop and interchange.
Friends who decide to buy apple crumble after ten million years.

Friends who take illegal pictures together.
Friend who discusses hot girls with me.
Friends who look good in hoodies and are so cool on and off the dance stage.
Friend who will shave his beard and moustache soon (apparently).

Friend who will walk far and open the door no matter how stinky the hallway is.
Friends who I meet in the MRT very randomly.
Friends who bring extra joy to Sundays at church.
Friends who are so stressed with interim crit but make time for dinner.

Friends who still meet up though given super short notice.
Friends who force me to play Hearts instead of Bridge.
Friends who trash me in Hearts on purpose with evil laughter.
Friends who cannot meet but definitely will next time.

Friends attached with ears, mouths and hugs.

SHINE

Hooboy double article from me in theSun's youth section today! Here's one with the interviews I did at Shine Concert (organised by the society I'm in). The night was filled with lots of fun. Lots of energy. Lots of hilarious banter. Did six interviews and sadly there wasn't enough space to fit in the interviews I did with Bus Company and Shoelace Untied. Word limit. Curses.

Check out that cool photo at the top of the article with the parallel guitars man! Totally rocking. So even though I didn't interview An Honest Mistake, they still got a photo in the paper! All images are thanks to awesome photography by Joshua Chay. Do wish his name could have been mentioned as photographer in the paper but ah well that's out of my control.

The concert was a blast. Almost forgot I had to interview people for my article that night! Thank goodness Su Cheng and Mei Cher both reminded me. First up was the band Shoelace Untied. They made the interview a breeze when I was actually really nervous.

Next up was the biggest star of the night - Reza Salleh! To be frank, I'd never heard of him before that night but I am a fan now. Witty. Approachable. Stage presence. The audience was just loving him, such an engaging performer! He was swamped by loads of people wanting a picture with him and also his autographed CDs (lost my marker pen to this cause LOL).

Let's see, who else was there? Bus Company of course! Charmers and amazing performers on stage, off stage these 5 guys were super funny and talkative too. Made a mistake and mixed up Darren and Larry from the band that night yikes. In my defense, I did just meet them and names were all becoming a blur to me. Couldn't link them to faces! Oops.

Clockwise from top left:
JC, Darren, Bo the afro guy! and Sean Chong

More interviews. Chatted with an ex-member of our society - JC. He was there to perform too! I met Darren by chance, was actually waiting to interview someone else then. Afro guy sure got a lot of attention especially when he came out for his solo performance. Last but not least, I interviewed Sean Chong. His siblings are kinda famous. His sisters were first runners-up in Amazing Race Asia 2 and his brother is an Akademi Fantasia winner.

Guess how many copies of the paper I'm going to grab today? :P
Thank goodness its free. Haha.

Joint celebration

Ever since the year started, the busy-ness hasn't stopped and it only seemed to increase with time. So I'm glad we all got a much-needed breather yesterday. Steamboat birthday celebration yo!

Two birthday kids plus four friends can finally strike off steamboat off our to-do-list. The spread of food was more than I expected. For RM13.60, I'd say it was totally worth it. The restaurant even threw in a delicious fish for free! Yum. It may not have been the most popular place along the row but I kinda appreciated having most of the place to ourselves away from the normal din!

Can you tell how sick we were of birthday cakes? To substitute that, we had a dozen Big Apple donuts instead which turned out rather pretty in the end. Such a beautiful candle glow. Birthday kids - Kok Hao and Claudia with some of their gifts in the photos above. Men's perfume for Kok Hao and a cool sling bag for Claudia.

Happy advanced birthday to you both!

And to a dear friend in Croatia, a freaking long letter
all the way from Malaysia, I pray will reach you faster..
Happy Birthday too =)

Hello Grandma! (thank you D.G.)

To be paid unexpectedly for homework that I actually enjoyed doing.

Gosh. Something that rarely happens - enjoying homework!
Wow. Something that NEVER happens - getting paid for doing homework!

Such a high really. So high I've got the first 50 cent coin I received stuck on my door.
The rest of the money are in a little angpow I vowed not to spend for a year.
Ok don't come robbing me, its a tiny amount haha.

I guess I'm not making sense so far?
Well, its this whimsical thing our lecturer had in mind. She made us all write stories and then we had the choice of picking someone else's story to draw a storyboard for. Catch is, you got to pay 50 cents for the copyright! Thanks to those who had confidence in my horror/comedy story. That explains the sudden income =)
