Doctor Date
Special appearance by a doctor-to-be! How often do you see Eric around? For those not in IMU that is. This guy has the softest baby hair. That was until 3 years ago. Swim team ruined it! Good time. Great banter. He even treated us ice-cream!
By us, I mean Su San, Wan Fen and me of course. Somebody got her ears pierced and it wasn't me. People! Take note! You can now buy earrings for Wan Fen. Official announcement must be made haha. One day I'll show her the video of the experience =D
Tis the season to be dancing! I swear people around me will all get sick of hearing about So You Think You Can Dance from me starting now till December(you have been warned!). What with the Australian version currently going on, Malaysia's Season 2 to come and the original American version to round things off including the 4th Season tour, I'll be plenty occupied! Let's hope I get to watch the Canadian and UK versions as well. I am totally crazy! (for a non-dancer that is)
Guess who I saw choreographing in the Aussie show?(Jolene will be interested) It's Yannus Sufandi!! Choreographer, artistic director as well as a guest judge for the first season of SYTYCD Malaysia. Definitely eye candy on the show over here.

Always maintaining a cool persona, he is pictured here with permanent judge Judimar Hernandez. She's sweet, pretty and likable but please don't ask me what that nest is doing on top of her head LOL.
Indonesian born Chinese, Yannus has got a whole long list of choreography, performances and commercials' credits listed in his resume which you can check out here or maybe you'd like to add him on his MySpace! For an interview done with him last year, you can read it up here.

Even choreographers want to dance on the main stage too! Yannus busting his moves out prior to the show. To watch him dance, please visit his youtube page. And for a peek at a solo dance he helped choreographed (parts of it) for Malaysian Top 4 finalist Dennis for the finale show, click this.
The stage for SYTYCD Malaysia is the only one so far that ain't a total copycat of the American one, not sure I'm a fan of that. Ah well. It's similar but not quite, no descending stairs plus the stage is sort of rectangular! Anyway I digressed, here's someone else I was pleasantly surprised to see choreographing in SYTYCD Australia as well!

None other than Manuela Oliveira! Who also choreographed for the first season of SYTYCD Malaysia. She and Yannus work together all the time, interestingly enough, they both choreographed for Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2007.
Watch Yannus and Manuela dancing together to Yannus' choreography.
Manuela's first hip hop choreography on SYTYCD Australia.
If you are curious about Manuela's work on SYTYCD Malaysia, this showreel pretty much sums it up. You will see a familiar lift from the first couple here that is similar to Aussie's JD and Rhiannon's hip hop!
Am loving Graeme on the Aussie show right now so Yannus + Graeme = just the perfect combination for me. Pretty swell dance and what an awesome coincidence!
Yikes, almost forgot to mention the good news every dancer in Malaysia has been waiting for. So You Think You Can Dance Malaysia Season 2 audition dates have been announced!
March 8, 2008 (10am onwards) - Imperial International Hotel, Kota Kinabalu
March 18, 2008 (10am onwards) - Panggung Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur
Open to all dancers age 18-30. Bring along your IC and photocopy. 2 current photos. Audition CD with music of choice.
How exciting awesome incredible is that? I'm guessing Malaysia's version will premiere early May (like last year) which means Yannus and Manuela will definitely make it back in time after the Aussie one ends in April. Yippee! Can't wait!
Due to the geographical distance I fear, There'll be no chocolates from me this year. But no matter the distance or time, You (plural) are always kept on my mind!
Happy Friendship Day!
Chinese New Year holidays just passed us by. How about a candid photo from home?
My sisters' early birthday celebration. Yam flavoured ice-cream cake. Wonder what's so funny that Esther's laughing like a maniac? Evangeline's staring hard at the cake, probably salivating at the prospect of yummy ice-cream haha.
Now how about another candid shot?
Aww. My brother loves us. Spontaneous hug and the camerawoman (who else?) was quick enough to capture the moment. Look at that hair! It was even longer a few months back, thank goodness they trimmed it to a better-looking length! :P
Newsflash: Cumi was spotted in town just recently. O happy day! January is jam packed with meeting people, it should be more focused on starting my semester right! Ah well, I did my best to wake up for those cock-just-crowed early morning classes :P (failed miserably)
Yessica was her same old cheerful octopusy self. Weird dancing in the midst of the mall crowds. We caught Sweeney Todd(second time round, must watch!) but they cut some scenes and Johnny's singing was disconnected. My gosh, totally ruined the song! For this short visit, shopping was the main agenda and bought a lot of stuff we did.
Do Emilyn and I look like twins? Fraternal maybe?
Guess who I met in Penang! (*clue* middle!) I hopped into Emilyn's car, her elder sis was driving and the mysterious figure in the back seat turned out to be the best surprise ever! Emi pulled it off very nicely indeed. It made my trip doubly awesome, wait, make that quadruply awesome, gotta factor in all the delicious food and the DVDs too! Emi was the perfect host and her place is so cozy that it chased the blues away.
Yean Ching, I know you miss her too. Come back in May and we'll visit Kedah alright?
Stanley, Vivien, Drunk with love, San
Wesley church buddies together after a long while. Service never fails to bring a smile to my face and lead me to fully worship. Sermons there also have a tendency to speak to me. There's something about routine here that never gets old, down to the fish noodles with milk, right San?
Linda and Tiang Lim jumped in the shot while Stanley gracefully stepped out as photographer. Anybody in need of overseas calling cards or top up cards should contact Stanley or TiangLim, discounted rates and delivered right on NUS/NTU campus!
Sherly got the Barbie! Glad I made a big kid happy. Keep it well, pass it down to your kids! Or sell it as collector's item many many many years from now :P
Therapy session for Yean Ching and I at Changi airport(translated: nap time). The country is squeaky clean, no one tried to walk off with YC's laptop while we were asleep. Glad we had more time together compared to my previous visit and did some good ol' crazy stuff. Even with the lack of sleep, you took the time, I loved the pretty note with the flower! I almost didn't notice it before I left haha.
