Love is in the air
Ahh Cornetto Love? Perhaps. We were treated to a Paso Doble dance performance at the press conference. Never seen one so up close before! Interesting mix of contestants and lots of Cornettos of course heh.
The quotes I used are quite well known I think but just in case, why don't you check out the first and last paragraph? I think its pretty cool, I was adamant about inserting those two quotes in no matter what =D
Guess what? The picture above was taken by me with my non-SLR camera! Not a fantastic picture I know but I must be jinxed somehow, the photographers assigned to my events frequently seem to be too overwhelmed with assignments to show up.
The truly dreadful movie that I had to sit through so that I could write a review on it. Gosh, this shows how much I love my job, I'm willing to sit through an absolutely horrid movie for it! On second thoughts, maybe I should have given it even lower ratings haha. The last paragraph sums it up pretty neatly I think.

Continuation of bylines
If you've read my Peter Pan article and have no idea who the legendary Gene Kelly is, feast your eyes on this video man. Tap dancing with roller skates, how difficultly cool is that? One of the comments really tickled me.."there ain't enough O's in SMOOOOTH to describe Gene Kelly" which is right on! He looks like he's ice skating!
Back to bylines and articles, this blog is turning into an online storage place for all I wrote. Bear with me. To maintain your sanity, do not attempt to read the articles unless I encourage it (like the Peter Pan one) haha.
Yummy flamed butter prawns at the Manhattan Fish Market! I could tell you a funny story about this article but I won't here, ask me if you see me in person! =P
As Italians say, buon appetito! That phrase must be somewhat over-used but I put it in anyway, still thought it was the perfect ending for this food article.
Screening of Secrets of the Sun at the National Planetarium, that was pretty cool and I actually met someone who is based in Singapore and flew to Malaysia just for the screening haha always nice to meet new, friendly people =)

Peter Pan: Setting stage for a flyaway hit!
I thought nothing could surpass the excitement of my first byline. I was so so wrong. The feeling of having my Peter Pan review in print is so absolutely superbly amazing that I still constantly feel the high. This article is a must read! Go click it to enlarge and read! I poured out my heart and soul for this =)
This will lead to my current crazy obsession. The twins mentioned in the article are adorable 12 year-olds. They were so cute on stage, I just kept laughing at their antics.
Seeing this picture makes me grin. Somehow. If I was really crazy though, I could still drop by Istana Budaya (and stalk them? LOL) where they'll be performing till 25th November.
Haha thought I'd toss in another photo of them just to show you their looks with shorter haircuts. Can you tell which is James and which is Paul in the first photo? =P
Let's start from the beginning. Unbelievably lucky me got to cover the open dress rehearsal for Peter Pan (the musical..not Peterpan the Indonesian band!) Even better, I managed to score tickets to the show on the gala night! I couldn't freaking believe my luck and Jolene's!
The moment they sang "Now you are here, you won't want to leave", I knew that would be the perfect ending of my review. Look at the twins in the background with hands over each other's shoulders, ah so adorable! Peter Pan (Ryutaro Yanagita) should get more solos heh, the moment he did sing solo, I was pleasantly surprised! There's just this interesting melodic quality to his voice.
But of course, the flying has got to be the most awesome! It seems as if there are no strings (well yes there are but they've done a remarkable job keeping the mechanism obscure). Peter Pan actually flew off the stage into the crowd above our heads. Awesome man. Totally rad! The feeling I got from just watching is indescribable! Can you imagine how many thousand times better it must feel to be THE One flying? To watch some of the action you can go here.
Captain Hook (Scott T. Sauer) was such a
delight to interview! The banter between him and Ryutaro was entertaining heh. Yeah surely I can't include everything in my review, word limit! A heavy hook that is.
What a fantastic job Ryutaro has. His flight scenes of course were stunning. All those flips, I sure wished it was me up there haha.
Snap your fingers! It's time for make believe!Totally enjoyed myself! I loved it even more because they included one of my favourite choir songs-Adiemus. The whole soundtrack is just perfect. Enchanting. I felt like such a kid again marveling at every tiny little thing and grinning away the whole night =)

First article in print!
Man there is NOTHING like seeing your FIRST byline IN PRINT! It also happens to be the first event I covered! The launch of Deal or No Deal (English version) with such an amicable host! Printed on Nov 7. Click the pictures to enlarge and read =)
Moving on, on the same day, turn the page and you will see this article below. I know it doesn't have my name on it but I still know its my work (together with Jolene). Don't have to read this one, its just us processing a simple press release.
This whole page on Nov 7 is mine. Seriously. Right next to the Deepavali Delights, you can find this Swiss Sensation at the peak article. Heh my work of course but my editor added in more details later about the menu.
2 days later, 2 more articles popped up. What's funny is, my name is in the byline but I didn't write a single word there. Just helped to check some facts and get some numbers. Well, less sense of satisfaction when I didn't actually write it but thanks to my editor, I will have more to include in my report heh.
Jolene and I had quite a laugh over this last article. The first bottle was piped in by 25 pipers from the New York City Fire Department. There we were thinking (or maybe it was only me?) that the firemen hosed the scotch in with their fire hoses..when actually they meant pipes to be bagpipes -_-"
Alright, in 6 days of work, I've amassed 5 articles, I am so loving this job (because of so many reasons that I'm too tired to write about). My favourite out of these 5 is the first one of course! Deal or No Deal..ahh it was such a fun, intimate launch with good food.
