2 months internship
An unexpected triple post from me I know.
That's because I will be online less in the next 2 months.
Gonna be interning at theSun (newspaper).
A dream internship really for an aspiring journalist =)
Nervous excitement extends to wardrobe worries.
Not to mention the high crime rate at that area.
Staying at my aunt's place temporarily by the way (its nearer).
Let's hope the buses are nice to me and are frequent!
I'm missing sweating it out in the Fitness First gym.
Membership ended last week (tragically).
My favourite instructor granted my last song request!
Cooling down to Fly Me To The Moon (Sinatra version). Breezy!
Anticipating a few highlights the next couple of months.
Su San and Emilyn will be back! Merry will be visiting!
That signals get-togethers and my Shannon Noll CD! ;P
Can't wait can't wait can't wait can't wait.
I wasn't attempting to make this a rhyming poem.
Nor was it supposed to be a poem of any form at all.
In case that's what you were pondering.

Kampar escapade
Holidays are scarce. Rare but I got a chance to escape back to my hometown for one whole week recently.
My goal to complete CSI Vegas Season 3 is accomplished! I was so surprised when an explosion blew up right in front of my favourite lab guy Eric Szmanda! Thank goodness I knew he would survive till Season 7 phew.
Wan Fen came over to visit! First stop, the waterfall!
Absolutely freezing cold water. Pretty clean and fresh. Enough nature to satisfy the city kid hehe beware the slippery rocks! My brother kindly acted as chief photographer of the day, much appreciated! =)

We are both scared of leeches and I imagine the place must be swarming with them
*shudder*. Didn't stop us from taking wacky photos and having
a splashing frigid good time.
Ahhhh true relaxation.
The shady leafy branches, the sound of the gushing water, the smooth flat bed of rock and the company. Definitely an experience not to be missed in this quaint little town that's expanding fast.

Besides that, of course there's the food! One of our famous dishes.
Chicken curry enveloped in bread. Bread and curry, good combination! For a list of other delectable food that you can consume in Kampar, you'll just have to visit! Heh.
Wan Fen and I tried our hand at making Rojak sauce. With help from my mom, it turned out tasty! Why didn't I take any pictures of our first attempt??? Bet you can't imagine how much sugar is required in the recipe ;P

Behold the water storage tank that my brother, our neighbours and I transformed into our playground when we were kids.
I believe they fixed the hole in the fence and started locking the gate due to a few ambitious 'monkey' climbers haha.
Daredevil walking the plank. The Kampar experience can't be summed up in just 2 days!! And evidently I didn't exactly list everything out in this post. Come experience it yourself! =)

Double Happiness
Double celebration last Thursday. Since all of us would be split up for the next 2 months, we decided
early birthday celebrations were in order...and our unsuspecting targets
(victims) were
Patricia and Jolene! Picture below.

It was meant to be a surprise party at K-box. Yep, we got our plans all laid out and every minute detail looked at until ish we had no choice but to ruin Patricia's surprise to make sure she would be there -_-"
We were totally stuffed from the buffet and were singing our throats hoarse when suddenly the K-box management changed our entertainment system to play the Happy Birthday song. Jolene was mightily surprised and I'm sure a bit confused since technically it wasn't anybody's birthday YET. She even told the waiter he brought the birthday cake into the wrong room. (I mean seriously..service can't be THAT bad.)
The 2 lucky gals got material love from us. It just feels great when you get your friends something they want and like and are sooooo happy to receive. Patricia, update me on that collection of yours! And Jolene, you've got Lilean to thank..she helped pick out the presents!

Karaoke. Well I certainly don't do that often. It was fun though cleaning up smeared cream and icing afterward is definitely not a highlight...

Sushi Rice!
Presenting to you quail eggs with an attitude.

Sticking their tongues out at you! =P
Spent Saturday at Wan Fen's place. She promised to make sushi *slurrps* for me as a birthday present! BUT...when I got there, I was put to work..chopping, cleaning, slicing, mixing...I should have known.
SLAVE DRIVER! Hahaha honestly I enjoyed learning the process of making different types of sushi. I learned enough to know that I won't want to make them any time soon
*the preparation effort aiks!*, well at least not alone, doing it in a gang would be fun =)

Turns out the rice was too soft for the first batch but the second batch was just right! The batch I made was just a bit too scrawny. Ah well, still tasted good!
Sushi for lunch and sushi for dinner..Wan Fen, her mom and me made enough for me to bring back for dinner and to share with my house mates. I did contemplate gobbling them all up
*I'm like Joey, Joey doesn't share food* before I got back to my place but lunch was just too filling! LOL.

As I type this, the sushi is all gone. Need more! *gasp*

Blessed 21st
Perhaps the best gift of all is thought, time and effort. I had more fun on my
21st than I ever could have imagined or expected. Thanks to my dear friends who called, sms-ed, sent me messages online, wrote me sweet letters, posted a
blue card
(regardless of the yellow envelope) and a postcard too!
Every gesture brought a the Mask grin to my face =)
Front: Claudia, Patricia, Lilean, Jolene, TheresaBack: Bobo, Su Ching, Hao2
The gift of time. To spice up the day, we headed over to my favourite nearby pool place to shoot some pool, you know how I love it! So what better way to celebrate? 2 tables, one for anybody game enough to challenge the birthday girl and the other for no-stress fun. Thanks Patricia, for stepping in as last-minute coach! ;P
Birthday luck wasn't 100%, but 4 out of 5 games ain't too bad right? Su Ching pulled a win from right under my gaping mouth.
REMATCH!
You're one of a kind, and that's probably
what makes us bind.
-impromptu poem by Jolene
We moved on to dinner at Free and Easy. True to its name, its a comfortable little place where you sit on small little cushion pillows on the floor and where you can practice the art of graffiti as you pleased. A warm meal, many pictures and much laughter later, they brought in the surprise cake!
My favourite picture of the day! The gift of effort. The cheese chocolate brownie that Jolene baked personally! It was soooo amazingly delicious.
Looking back, I wish I had cut teeny little pieces for everyone so that I would have more leftovers for me! Aiks. I kid you not, it was just that awesome, I'm craving that brownie BADLY.

The gift of thought. A present that was large and heavy. I had no freaking idea what could weigh that much. Mini pool table? Hahaha I opened it to reveal a water pillow! I have been eye-ing water pillows for awhile now and the bunch of them pooled their money together to get me one. Sweet. Its cooling, comfortable and heavy heh.
No 21 shots for me, I'd itch! The guys were perfect gentlemen
(plus Lilean too) walking me back all the way to my door. Nothing too fancy but plenty of thought, time and effort, that wraps up the celebration. I appreciate the love, thank you people! Those in Singapore, Aussie, Indo and Japan, I feel the love =)

P.S. Am eagerly awaiting a signed copy of Shannon Noll's new single all the way from OZ!
