Journey to the Finals show on Thurs, 28th June 9.30pm at 8TV.
Grand Finals live at Ruums KL on Friday, 29th June 8.30pm.

I really admire the passion all these dancers have man.
But as reality shows go, shit must happen.

SYTYCD Malaysia Top 8
A flu bug hit many of us poor students last week so we decided against traveling to Ruums (Top 10 show) but this week we are back! With a revamped poster unveiled! Drawing of the B-Boy done by Su Ching (my course mate), many thanks. It was picked up on TV so there's 1 wish fulfilled =)
Before the show started, an 8TV crew member (Adam) got us to sing Happy Birthday to Dennis' girlfriend. He said "I can't name any names but someone asked me to do this because he didn't have time to buy present." Haha well the dancers only have 1 day off each week to spend with their families so its understandable.
Sue and Jimmy danced together for the first time. A contemporary routine where Sue kind of outshined her partner. In the Viennese Waltz however, both managed to captivate me with emotional tenderness and smooth flow in their movements.
Nikki and Alam dished up a contemporary routine and a Hip Hop one! Whooboy 2 break dancers pumping it on the dance floor in their own dance genre choreographed by Yannus no less! Cool.
Brancy and Dennis brought some Smooth Jazz and Samba to the stage. I was definitely a fan of the smooth jazz number, so sassy and groovy with attitude!
Noor and Yuz created a fun lighthearted feel in their Broadway Jazz routine with a sailor theme and later went on to execute sharp silat moves in Malay contemporary style. Noor is technically strong and Yuz is a silent contender (can you believe he's never been in the bottom before?)
Only Sue and Yuz were safe this week. The rest was up on the chopping block. Look at Nikki (in the middle of the girls) praying hard while clutching her purple soft toy. Sadly, she didn't make it through. Dennis WAS in danger but thank you for voting! Jimmy (in white singlet) left the competition that night.

The people who suffered public transport and 3 hours standing time with me-Yin Mei and Kah Wai. I've been there live 3 times so far and no one has joined me there more than once. Next week I'm taking a break. Continue to vote and let's hope Dennis gets in finals =)

10 Little Known Facts

Alright here's some little known facts:
- Watching Friends not only makes me laugh, it makes me cry.
- Luncheon meat used to be one of my favourites until I got sick of it.
- I remember my dreams better after I did a project on dreams in my Psychology class last semester.
- Creepily enough, I just had a dream dejavu yesterday. The same nightmare twice yikes.
- You could be 3 hours late in meeting me and I'd be cool with it but if you are only 2 minutes late for a concert which has free seating (like Rapture) or a movie (specifically at Cineleisure Orchard, Singapore), I'd be going out of my mind so please don't let that happen for the sake of my sanity. Thanks.
- I do multiplications in Mandarin but addition in English.
- My newest nickname is 'dinosaur', it is used frequently by 1 guy in my uni. I have a feeling he doesn't know my real name.
- Ever since Primary 5, I've had a preference for short hair.
- Leeches scare me, I avoid places which they might thrive in.
And lastly, here's a habit which I think you just might find weird
10. I have to wash my feet every night before I sleep.

French Film Festival 2007
The French Film Festival is in town! I watched 5 French movies (4 of them totally free thanks to New Straits Times who kindly published coupons for us to exchange for free movie passes). Add in Spiderman 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and Shrek 3 (all the trilogies haha), I've watched a total of 8 movies in a short span of 10 days. Woah.
Mon petit doigt m'a dit (By the Pricking of My Thumbs)
A movie based on characters created by Agatha Christie, I knew I wouldn't want to miss this. The mystery presented kept me enthralled and intrigued. The female lead's (Catherine Frot) unique quirkiness was refreshingly delighting and the humorous banter between her and her husband gave the story that bit of lightness to balance out the intensity of the murder mystery which made it one good movie. Fans of Agatha Christie's books should check this one out.
Fauteuils d'orchestre (Avenue Montaigne)A light hearted comedy with an amazingly likable female lead (Cecile De France) who acts as a waitress in the movie. Cecile has such an interesting face! She's got that model look! Anyway, the story has many different characters whose lives interlink with hers and each character brings a different element into the show which makes it so interesting. Most touching moments centre around the concert pianist. We were treated to beautiful piano pieces accompanied by grand orchestras. Soundtrack I feel is awesome. I loved every bit of the movie, highly recommended! =)
Hors de Prix (Priceless)
Audrey Tautou (Da Vinci Code) starring in a romantic comedy, what's not to like? Her hotness and chemistry with her male co-star made it worth watching. We are introduced to a classy world of toy boys and play girls in the movie, with a touch of humour, sexiness, romance and debonair, worth a watch!
La Vie en Rose (La Mome)
A true life story based on famed French singer Edith Piaf. Sad and difficult childhood, discovered in the streets, rose to fame and then came the drug and alcohol addictions which caused her life to spiral out of control. It was all downhill from there. Predictable. Apart from the stellar performance by Marion Cotillard, I liked the heart-wrenching love story and 3 of her songs. Edith Piaf's voice is astounding by the way.
La Science des Reves (The Science of Dreams)
Funny! The director's style of filming (with the camera never being still) irked me at times because I was already having a headache before the show. But apart from that, it is definitely funny! Plus the male lead (Gael Garcia Bernal) looks a bit like Freddie Prinze Junior (cute!) It was weird in a Tim Burton way so lovers of out-of-the-ordinary, check this one out =)

SYTYCD Malaysia Top 12
This could become a habit. Thursday came and once again I found myself heading down to Ruums KL. So You Think You Can Dance Malaysia Top 12 people!
This time we took public transport. Wasn't that bad, Ruums is walking distance from KLCC! The cameras and camera men kept blocking our view. Sobs. Its alright, it had to be done.
Judging panel is exactly the same as last week. Which means Yannus was one of the judges! Woohoo! Another unexpected treat! Sight for sore eyes I say.
This week we stood in Dennis' camp. His family, cheerleading mates, friends and us(random supporters haha). Dennis' dad in orange and his mom is holding the banner on the far left.
Surprise surprise! There was a new co-host Jehan Miskin! They explained it away by saying Juliana was feeling lonely hosting it all alone. Ah well, hopefully the flow will be much smoother with this addition.
Becky and Dennis was the first couple up! Malay contemporary dance infused with silat. Whooboy..they were so cool executing those silat moves with sharp movement and precision.
Brancy and Firul up next. They surprised us with an interesting Chinese contemporary dance. I love that lift man, never tire of seeing it, but the best was when Sean lifted Brancy during the Top 20 show. Arhhh why did we have to lose Sean?
Sue and Isaac got a pretty emotional Indian contemporary piece. The live audience was definitely moved by their expressions, body movements and the tension in their 'love' for each other. An awesomely moving piece. Phew.
For once Noor and Alam got bad comments from the judges. I guess they thought it was pretty but lacking in substance?
Another touching piece by Nikki and Yuz (Sue&Isaac's piece was more moving). Dancing to Belaian Jiwa (you could tell from the audience's reaction that this song is a Malaysian favourite), they delivered the emotions pretty well through their facial expressions.
An upbeat Bhangra performance by Jo and Jimmy. Wardrobe malfunction here! They still did their thing though. The show must go on.A shocking episode indeed. Instead of announcing the bottom 4, the judges decided that there would be 6 people in the bottom this week. UTTER MAYHEM AND PANIC! That is like half the dancers! It happened so fast though that I didn't have time to really worry about the 50% chance that Dennis just might be in the bottom when the hosts finished announcing the 3rd guy. Huwahhhh after the 3rd guy was announced, I couldn't concentrate on the last girl being announced. Jumping up and down for joy! Dennis is safe again!!

The one solo that really impressed me. Alam's hip hop and break dance moves were good! Those are really strong arms man. He deserves a second chance totally! But so do the others! Sigh, in the end, Isaac (why?!) and Jo were out. Most emotional episode yet. After the results were announced, the Top 10 didn't even have the mood to dance as usual at the end of the show (they always do). They were all hugging and crying this time. Its getting tougher as the numbers dwindle man! Next week will be a whole new ball game as the partnerings have been switched and there's double the number of dances to do. Not to be missed.
The crazy soul Theresa who braved public transport with me. We had fun though it entailed running for the last train and me almost slipping and falling down (I seem to be accident prone these few weeks hmm?). We also indulged in some Oliver James by watching Raise Your Voice haha chick flick?
