Girls' Night Out!
Event : Nike Rockstar Workout Dancehall -

In the midst of all the projects and presentations, I took time out to party! Nike’s Women-Only party that is. When I got there half and hour before the party, there was already a long wide queue. People were decked in all assortments of workout gear. There was this woman clothed head to toe in Nike gear. Nike cap, Nike top, Nike sweatpants, Nike shoes. Nike crazy!
Patricia and I were excited! Praying hard that we would be two of the first 300 people so that we can grab that Nike goodie bag for early birds.
Lo and behold! The green Nike goodie bag! There’s a cute purple mini water bottle in it. RM50 voucher for Runway salon. 1 week free Fitness First membership (we are so going to make use of this!) and cool green Nike stickers. I picked up another RM50 voucher for Watchzone afterwards.
Once inside, we got in line for free hair braiding by Runway. The picture shows one row of hairdressers in action (those in red).
The emcee is revealed! Serena C from Mix FM. She engaged the crowd in some mini dance off and push up competitions in which she proceeded to give away cool Nike products. She had really funky braiding done to her hair. And I like her shirt! It says "I Love Dance"! Also from Nike.
They served us fruits, drinks and sandwiches and once a platter was finished, the refills kept coming. Good work!
The DJ present (not sure who he is) played suitable hot dance-y tracks that just made you want to dance and move your body. Good choice of songs! And this is just the pre-show entertainment.
Can you spot the surf beach? Normally this whole area will be filled with water. Which they have drained out for this party! Cool stuff. Or maybe they drained it out for cleaning? Haha maybe kill 2 birds with one stone.
I apologize my camera does not take pictures that well in such lighting but I tried my best. They had a stage constructed right where the surf beach should be. With 2 large screens at the side. We started out stretching with some yoga. Oh my gosh they really do stretch you, which wasn't easy to do in jeans. I don't own workout pants yikes.
I just had to put this picture of Patricia because I think it is so cool. And that is the kind of lighting that was kept spinning and flashing at the sides. Total clubbing feel.
Yoga was followed by Body Combat!! It was filled with *punch punch block kick* and *uppercut uppercut hook kick*. All the while bouncing back and forth on our feet. Nice release of aggression. Felt good all over. Patricia and I polled ourselves and we agreed that we liked this part the most.
Alright Body Combat was just a warm up. On to the real thing. The Dancehall moves. Which you can check out on youtube here. That is just a sample of one move we did. You can see the Fitness First instructors below . They led us in all the dancehall moves.
I almost forgot to mention! How in the world? Yes let me say it now. They unveiled the new Nike Summer Collection at the party! Modeled by the Fitness First instructors. And I must say they looked SUPER HOT.
They had K Town Clan as a guest band. They entertained well. Sadly I have no photos to show for this. This was the part where we were free to groove to our own moves on the dance floor.
Serena C wrapped up the whole thing and Patricia and I went home truly contented. Body aches the day after, we ain't so fit. It was wild!
Alright my 2 week invisibility/disappearance on MSN is over. 80% of all my projects and assignments are done and yep exams are next.

Haphazard Wondering
IF you just so happened to be super unlucky and for some goodness-knows-why inexplicable reason YOU HAVE TO DECIDE between 2 people as your project work partner, would you rather choose:-
i) the person who you feel uncomfortable with (not at ease, unnerving, weirded out)
OR
ii) the person who really irritates the sh** out of you (even when he/she is not talking but especially so when he/she opens his/her mouth)
Hmmm..and why did you make that choice??
Oh and Reren has more out of the blue stranger thoughts than this. Haha.
*edit* Oh no I must have caused a misunderstanding. This scenario is not true. I am actually able to choose all my group members so far and they are all nice people. This crazy question just came to mind. So yes nothing's wrong. Happy contemplating and answer me on my cbox! =)

Birthdays
When we first met last semester, she was surprised. We have the same English name. Now she is more well known as Yang Yang but I call her Su Ching. And for the first time the 2 of us went out scouting information for our tough PR project cum shopping (for birthday people). Momentous 1st time. For once we didn't have to wait long for the bus, train, train, train and bus. And we actually found seats on all those rides! How rare and amazing is that?
First birthday girl is Su Ann. A hush hush surprise birthday celebration where 4 different cars brought 11 different people to her house at midnight. We were in cahoots with her parents, brother and church mates. She was blur. And shocked. Didn't suspect a thing until we appeared outside her bedroom door singing the ol' birthday tune.
Second birthday girl is Claudia. We had pool! And a simple (but meaningful) celebration with cake, bolster and card. Plus a replacement class right after (mood spoiler! Haha) She was surprised. I think really very surprised. Unsuspecting as well. A grin was permanently plastered on her face.
And for those slap-n-kick abusive friends of mine and other not-so-abusive ones too, forgive me I won't be there for all your birthdays (physically) for the next 3 years at least. But you people will survive. *euevil mode on* I will send my wishes through telepathy. Yep.

Psychology Day
Event : Psychology Day

Theme : Psychology and You
My brother and Anna (the emcees for the day)A day to dispel the myths surrounding this oft misunderstood course. Or at least give some insights as to what psychology is about and how it is evident and relevant in our everyday life. Fun games, interesting topics, jolly good song dedications. Free food, free seminars, free prizes of course. They raised the money by washing cars on 2 Saturdays.
My brother was one of the emcees for this event. Stress stress. For him? Hah. The stress was felt by me too because (obviously) he asked me to get my butt there along with my friends to support the activities during the day. Not possible when all the seminars available and games and what not clash with ALL my lectures on that day. Except the opening ceremony which was during my break.
But thank goodness for a lecturer who ended lecture 45 minutes early! Hooray! That gave us time to catch a bit of the happenings. One of the Psychology lecturers Mr James (who majored in music) actually volunteered to do song dedications. Vocals and on the keyboard. He had a list of songs to choose from just like if you were to go K-Box. And oh my I couldn't believe it, the first song on the list was Baby Elephant Walk!! SAJC's get-your-butts-in-line-for-morning-assembly tune. I COULD NOT RESIST. I JUST HAD TO REQUEST IT.
In my mind I was thinking why in the world would he put that on the list?

And he must have been thinking why in the world did she choose that tune?
(very weird)
He played it and my mood was really good for the remainder of the day.

Green Tea addiction
Green tea update. Imagine how happy I was to find the bottled green tea on the left. That bottle is way more green-looking than the one on the right (which is 'contaminated' with lemons) and since they are from the same company, I concluded that the left must be original untainted green tea! But happiness was fleeting...I zoomed my eyes down to the bottom and saw...
DEJAVU.....the small yellow strip stating: "Teh hijau perisa lemon". What is it with Lipton and their obsession with lemons? -_-" They already produce bottled Ice Lemon Tea, why mess with the Ice Green Tea?? I don't see them contaminating their Ice Red Tea with lemons. Hmpf.

Books galore!
MPH Distributors Warehouse Sale
Date : 28th Feb-4th March
Time : 9.00am-6.30pm
Place : Bangunan TH, Petaling Jaya
I saw the news in the Star's campus paper and decided what the heck I should go! Haven't bought a novel in about 2 and a half months? Patricia was just as excited as me so even though we weren't too sure where this warehouse was, we took a chance and got our butts there.
The place was packed packed packed like sardines to the brim when we got there. You can imagine the squeezy-ness, the gasps for fresh air and of course a bit of shoving here and there. They had all sorts of books laid out, from children to adult, classics to self-help to fiction to teen magazines, really old books to the really recent ones (For One More Day by Mitch Albom sold for RM48, original price around RM70?).
I didn't want to spend too much so I only brought a limited amount of money. SELF CONTROL. Oh my, I regret that I'm not filthy rich, there were so so many books that I could just drool over. Could have started on my Agatha Christie collection but I didn't in the end.
Managed to pick up Stardust by Neil Gaiman, a Calvin & Hobbes comic compilation (only RM15 what a steal!) and you'll never guess my last purchase.

The February DVDs
Thanks to the contribution of DVDs from various people, my February was filled with movies. 12 in total. That's roughly 3 movies a week? The Chinese New Year holidays helped alright. Gave me all that time to camp out in front of the computer. The breakdown:
-The Love Stories-
50 First Dates:
Adam Sandler did it again! You can't go wrong with one of his comedies. Heart-warming and hilarious. Loved it.
Alfie:
Witty witty witty. Great way of presenting the story. And Jude Law is absolutely HOT.
Casanova:
Pretty funny. Suave mischievous Casanova.
Perhaps Love:
Intense love story. I like musicals and I definitely enjoyed this one. The songs and dances were the saving grace of this movie. Nice ending to boot.
IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE ONE: 50 FIRST DATES!!!

Constantine:
Very, very cool but if you really think about it, its kind of disturbing.
The Covenant:
Weak plot, the flow and whole idea just wasn't right for me.

Coyote Ugly:
Better than I expected. I like the other songs in the movie better than Can't Fight The Moonlight though. Why aren't they more popular??

You can leave your brains at the door for this one. Nicely choreographed cheer routines.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants:
Hey its got angsty Amber Tamblyn and sweet Alexis Bledel, what's not to like? Surprising pleaser. I'd recommend this to GIRLS ONLY.

Really like Josh Groban's song in this movie-Believe. But I guess this movie is really meant for kids. Hehe =D
Shrek 2:
Oh no am slightly disappointed! I prefer the first one! however I do remember the funniest part for me was when Shrek and Princess Fiona shared a touching moment....

CRASH
An afternoon spent with 3 coursemates watching Crash. Supposed to do a movie review on it. They commented that my room is perfect for movie watching. I know! The darkness, the comfy bed to lounge on and yummy salsa sauce with chips! Only thing lacking is better speakers. Crash certainly had some defining moments as well as some surprising developments. Worth a watch. No wonder it wasn't shown in M'sia with all the vulgarities and racism in it.

Lai Theng's Shin Chan and Minh's Pokemon character??I have been stuck in Reren's sleep clock mode ever since Chinese New Year. This is not good. I'm not even taking archi! I get super sleepy during lectures, nap after that for hours and the whole cycle repeats. Screwed. Sleepy again now. YAWN.
The assignments are starting to pile up and cascade into each other. Started out the semester leisurely but now its getting intense. Still surviving. YAWN again.
Been going crazy on youtube. Watched 30 episodes of 'What I Like About You'. Caught up with Survivor: Cook Islands as well. Man that season of Survivor (season 13) is interesting, it has now joined my list of favourites (Australian Outback, The Amazon, All-Stars).
The winner-Yul has both brain and brawns plus he's a total gentleman. His comments are always concise, insightful and to the point. The other hottie is Ozzy. Really likeable guy. He dominated the immunity challenges totally. Who would have thought such a skinny guy could be such a physical threat? And for the first time in Survivor history I'll bet, the final four actually made it there through loyalty and with their integrity intact. Bravo. YAWN?
May my sleep clock readjust itself!
