First Day
People, just in case you guys don't realise..go check out my posts on the surprise party and also the drinking night..haha..photos available!!!
Oh my, how long have I not had a first day of anything? First day of orientation. First day of school. It felt as if I was back to kindergarten. Not knowing anyone, nervous and yet excited to meet new people. I think I had way too much fun Ragging (read: cutting Coke cans and watching hot dancers) in NUS and immersing in the culture (read: Hip Hop auditions and tranquility) of NTU.
According to my dad, orientation in my university is
FAR MORE boring than his ever was. I believe him. And maybe after all the
fun and
excitement in Singapore, I really didn't mind not getting my face smeared with
flour, body drenched with
soap water, feet tied with
rafia and my eyes being
blindfolded. Sure, I miss the cheering, enthusiasm and craziness but strange enough, I feel contented with the absence of it this time round.
I got my whole first year subjects figured out so I'm happy. Looking forward to
Journalism,
Film Studies and
Introduction to Psychology =) Hopefully the schedules won't clash in future semesters. If not, I think I just might cry. Alright. Am off to print my first assignment.

Bacardi--->Itchiness
My last few days in Singapore was just so packed I didn't have time to mull over the inevitable. Leaving the country. Except of course for those 2 nights which I spent alone in the Tampines House. Not fun at all. After experiencing that, I feel remorse ditching Tuan for 4 nights! Aiks.
Our Zouk plan was out since they don't open on Mondays. But we had Bailey's left over from last time and we had a bottle of Bacardi courtesy of Mike (40% alcohol no joke) so we had a mini party in Pat's room with the alcohol and Coke(I mean the drink, not drugs).
We haven't started drinking yet.
It was quite funny and fun that more and more people were invited to the room when initially there were only supposed to be 4 girls (no way we could have finished the bottle man). Britney's my hero of the night. Haha..he helped to drink so much and finished the last bit as well when all of us had already given up just because I said I wanted to keep the bottle =)
Britney the hero!
Some of us got all red in the face. Like me and Pat. I had no idea Pat had the reputation of being a punk chick/rock chick. And after the party we had in her room, she's going to be more popular from now on. The hot drunk punk chick party girl! People kept passing by the room and exclaiming:"Wah..so happening ah?" We were really having too much fun =D
The punk 'chock' has turned red all over =D
And I turned red too..while Jo got drunk Tsk tsk =P
Our saviour-Chee Kiang when a cockroach came running out of nowhere. *hint to Pat* Clean your room!!! =PpP
Slept in Reren's room that morning. She has vampire sleeping habits. Sleeps only at 7am. And she said I kept scratching my butt. Yikes. I couldn't help it! The Bacardi did this to me. All itchy, red and swollen! Hix ='(
But I guess its quite funny(weird) to see fat chubby fingers and to wear a watch having it fit snugly when it was loose before. I shall attempt to stop scratching.

We had fun! But high price to pay..the itch and peeling skin now. Boohoo. Will Stuce ever drink again?

Surprise Surprise Party!!
Event: My surprise farewell party
Place: The lovely ECP
Date: 19th August 2006
I never saw it coming. No hint of it at all. That is until
Tony messaged me asking about the barbeque details. Haha..but he managed to trick me saying that he sent me the message
wrongly. I didn't think about it any further until
Eddie slipped. He asked
Yean Ching why why why she messaged him when they were just sitting opposite each other? Haha..I think YC panicked a bit then. I called
Eric and he said sorry he can't make it. That puzzled me coz I didn't plan on visiting Victoria Hall in the first place and never told him I'm coming. LOL..but Eric covered up very well too. I kinda suspected it on the day itself but I never really thought that you people(
I love you people ^_^) would plan something like this right under my nose!
How it all happened:Yean Ching tricked me into a
cycling outing so that I would voluntarily go ECP. Oi..I was looking forward to a cycling outing gal! =PpP
Sherly refused to let me stay in NTU one more night coz she thought I would need more rest for the bbq. Very sly..haha =D and she also invited Tuan for the party when I was sitting right next to
Tuan! My gosh..Tuan is another one who covers very well!
Reren asked me for some juniors handphone numbers at the ungodly hour of 2am saying she wanna wish them
good luck for prelims when actually she was getting their numbers to invite them to the SURPRISE party. Nice touch. So have you wished them? ;)
Pat,
Erlin and Reren are good party planners. Everything
last minute but still a success. They are strong strong gals who brought all the bbq stuff(enough for 20 ppl) to the hut at ECP from NTUC. We had no pit but the charcoal in the aluminium foil was sufficient. We had nice nice chocolate bananas, otah, hot dogs, sotong balls, fish balls and crab sticks =)
I was led to the hut by Yean Ching. And when everybody spotted me, they yelled 'SURPRISE!' Haha..always see that in movies but never thought I'd hear such a loud one for myself. Happy HAPPY! =)
It was really nice seeing good friends, ex-housemates, juniors and
Jo!-the guy that I thought needed a 2 week advanced notice or you can't get him ;D
That's our tiny little pit. With one of our chefs =P
The housemates reunite! With the exception of Ying Herng and Tiang Lim. Miss the times that we just hang around the Tampines House being all domestic. Haha =D
The guys trying to act cool.
Crazy panda! I miss you! Hang in there for aki!
9 days to prelims and yet the Saints came =)
AC prelims going on and yet I saw them there. Haha..I really appreciate it! =)
Family sytle photo at the end though some left early. My family for the past 4 years =)

Guess where home is?
Home-Michael BubleAnother summer day
Has come and gone awayIn Paris and Rome
But
I wanna go homeMay be surrounded by a million people
I still feel all alone
Just
wanna go homeOh
I miss you, you know
And I've been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two "I'm fine baby,
how are you?"
Well, I would send them but I know that it's just not enough
My words were cold and flat and
you deserve more than thatAnother aeroplane
Another sunny place
I'm lucky I know
But I wanna go home
I got to go home.
Let me go home
I'm just too far from where you are
I wanna come home
And I feel just like I'm living someone else's life
It's like I just stepped outside when everything was going right
And I know just why you could not come along with me
This was not your dream but you always
believed in meAnother winter day has come and gone away
And even Paris and Rome and I wanna go home
Let me go home
And I'm surrounded by a million people
I still feel alone
Let me go home
Oh, I miss you, you know
Let me go home
I've had my run. Baby, I'm done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It'll all be alright
I'll be home tonight
I'm coming back homeHome is where the heart is =)

Pulau NTU
Life in NTU is
serene. Seriously this place is like a
private getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. A resort(not a high-class one of course) to refresh your mind, relax and recharge your batteries. This place really helps you focus in studies. Oh well, that is if the
heat in your room doesn't
kill you first. Haha.
The bad thing is that NTU also helps to eliminate your social life outside this 'island'. Even if you do have one, it would cost you precious time and money. Phew, one thing about this place is the
humongous and
numerous amount of
stairs will keep you
fit.
Guaranteed =PpP
Guess what I did yesterday? ;)
There was some
Hip Hop audition going on and..
Sherly and Lita were going to join in.
To accompany their friend.
And I tagged along. Haha..it was fun!
Haven't had so much exercise for awhile now.
I can feel the
muscle ache in my thighs.
I practiced and remembered the steps just to forget it all when dancing in front of the instructor. -_-"
Stage fright! Haha..I didn't think it was possible.
I kinda like the hilliness(uh..no such word? I mean hill-like area) of NTU. It reminds me of
SAJC's old campus. You never really know which is 1st or 2nd floor. How
quaint. The buildings are intertwined in ways that could render you VERY lost.
Alright, weekend's here! I'm ready to step back into the crazy pace of the city. Bring it on!
P.S. Pool, anyone?

RAG Day '06
I can hardly walk anywhere in
NUS without bumping into someone I know.
Reren said I shouldn't go over
Sheares coz they might think I'm from
Kent Ridge trying to steal their Rag ideas. How funny it was that even though I am not from Sheares Hall, I sat in their dining room, helped them out (a bit) with their Rag float and nobody really bothered.
Haha..I saw
Abishek with his beard and long hair!(Oh my gosh!) He looks so different now. And I know his
full name. To the surprise of Yean Ching who got a bucket of water thrown over her head for
NOT knowing his full name when grilled by the seniors.
Seriously hilarious! =PpP
Rag Day was cool. Interesting watching all the dance performances(esp the Pirates, that was nice) and the amazingly crafted/designed floats. The minute details that go into the production of those floats are insane! They actually make sure they cut out the same area of each soft drink can to glue it onto the float.
CRAZY. But it all paid off. Well, at least for
KR. 7 awards in total? Phew.

The bunch of us =)

Rapture 2006
Event: SAJC Annual Dance Concert
Time: 7.30pm
Place: Theatre @ Esplanade (absolutely magical..you can do so much with the stage there)
Hmm..long overdue post because life's been just
sooooo busy these days.
People who know me know that I go
crazy every year around this period of time.
Why? Because that's when
Rapture normally is.
Busy little me will be tied up with
ticketing issues.
This year was kinda different.
Tickets started selling in April.
3 whole months before the event itself!
Before the tickets were even printed, it was sold out.
Can you imagine the
agony of having to settle for $15 tickets instead of the $20 ones?
Yes yes, none of you can imagine the
pain. I'm just
obsessed. LOL.
And I actually ordered on the 3rd day of ticket sales. Sold out
freakily fast!
This year was no different.I bought just enough tickets only to find out that I need
1 more.
Since Esplanade has fixed seating, getting extra tickets was more tricky.
But I managed to get
4 extra. Holey moley! How'd I do that ?_?
I was pretty happy then coz I could invite
3 more people. Heh heh =P
Then I found out I needed
1 more ticket. Aiks.
Yet again, I put my connections to use.
24 hours before the concert and things were looking bleak.
But I managed to get that elusive ticket
22 hours before the concert!!
Haha..am just lucky at these kinda things =D
This year the alumni shined.Enough about the ticketing already.
The manipulation of the stage was good.
Far better than
Kallang Theatre's stage.
It was more
artistic this time round.
The alumni really blew me away with their choreography.
The juniors showed marked improvement.
The presidents item with Zaki in it was just beautiful.
So was the item Lonesome Lullaby.
Beautiful.Scarlet Fever was... Unique. Sexy. Hot.
I still want to watch it again. Phew.
Last year's Rapture is still fresh in my mind.
I could watch them over and over again and not get bored.

ASEAN Dance 2006
Event : JC ASEAN DANCE 2006Time : 6.00pm (but everybody's always fashionably late, make it 8.00pm)
Place : Grand Copthorne Ballroom
Theme : Just One More Night
Ticket : J2s actually have to pay, can you believe it? But as I'm J3 with connections *ahem* ;)
I know I said I wouldn't go. Highly doubt I would go. And no motivation to go.
Haha..but I went all the same. Just as Dipta predicted. Haiks!
But I was wrong, there is reason for me to be there.
Just to meet up and take pictures with my dear friends and juniors =)
Catch up on things and see how good they look all dressed up ;P
And maybe also for closure? To begin a new chapter in my life. Uni life.
It was my last ever ASEAN Dance and it was good! I didn't stay very long though.
Guess what? Including this one, I've already been to 8 ASEAN Dances!
Haha..quite a feat in only 5 years, now I'm tempted to crash the Secondary ASEAN Dance just to make it 9 in total. Am weird. And obsessed over such weird things. LOL.

The reason I went..haha..Yessica's got strong persuasive powers?
Yoko. A partner in crime. Sneaking us in. Hoho =P
