X-Men 3: The Last Stand
Regardless of what others said, I thought it was pretty good! They sure created a chance for a sequel..lol..the producers are smart.Storm is my absolute favourite character, always has been and probably always will be. There's just something about controlling the weather that draws me. I never really thought of
Wolverine as one of the cool ones. I think his ugly yellow costume in the cartoon has something to do with that =D then again, I always had a thing for
Scott Summers, he was never portrayed SO weakly until this movie trilogy came rolling around the corner. I had thought they might have given him a slight chance to redeem his character but nay, he had no such opportunity. Aiks.
All in all, yesterday was money well spent-good movie and
pool! =)

An Evening With Friends
Event : ACJC Choir Concert
Time : 7.30pm
Place : Esplanade Theatre
As expected, they delivered a world-class vocal performance. They brought forth the arrangements beautifully.
They actually sang Janger! Haha..that reminded me of when the Indonesians used to sing it.
Watching them perform is like walking down memory lane. TKGS choir. Both good and bad experiences =)

I Hope You Dance
Event : Restless III-The Book of Days
Time : 7.30pm
Place : ACS Barker
Bravery. Strength. Energy. Fun.
Warmth. Few words to describe what I saw.
Some dancers had really good technique and facial expressions.
I sat next to one of the best dancer's mom. Interesting conversation =D
Highlight of the evening, they danced to Bad Day!
Haha..that is one of my favourite songs ever! =)
The theme song Seasons of Love is really catchy and sweet.
I recognised the guns and dresses from last year's production.
I met a couple of surprise visitors!
You can tell by the incoherence that I'm dead tired and need sleep.
-_- ZzZzz..

At the rate that we're going to play pool, I think we'd be better off buying a pool table.

Predictions that come true
AMERICAN Idol Season 5
*major spoiler beware*I posted this last Friday: "Notice the one guy I didn't mention who is in the finals is probably the one who will win this season. "
And yes, my prediction came true, Taylor Hicks is the new American Idol people. Never been one of my favourites and I doubt he'll ever be.

Man of Letters
Event : Man of Letters (musical)
Time : 8.00pm
Place : NUS UCC
Amazing set, good blocking, fantastic cast.
I walked in UCC expecting to see NUS students perform their very best and instead I was treated to an international cast of professional actors with Dick Lee composing the music and lyrics no less. It was
DARN good! I think there's seriously something
WAY cool about having a live orchestra. Lol.
The Minister of Defence and Security finds me amusing. She is curious to see me do things for the first time. Haha..so I shall oblige her by playing
pool with her for the first time.

Tom Hanks
Da Vinci Code was really enjoyable for me. 5 reasons why:
1. Tom Hanks
2. Tom Hanks
3. Tom Hanks
4. Tom Hanks
5. Tom Hanks
Nah..just kidding, though I do
admire Tom Hanks a lot. Any movie with him is worth my time =)
Here's the real 5 reasons:
1.
Tom Hanks
2. Gorgeous locations
3. Good direction
4. Audrey Tautou
5. I'm easily impressed and amused =P
And I think one
REALLY important reason is because I haven't read the book. Those who did just came out feeling cheated and dissatisfied. So, my advice is to catch the movie before you grab hold of the book.

I
used to be biased AGAINST
Adam Sandler.
He's totally changed my view through The Wedding Singer and The Longest Yard.
Now
I'm a fan =P
Speaking about
The Longest Yard, it is not lame-ass-funny and not idiotic-funny but just humorous-funny. Haha..I think only I understand what I'm saying right now.
Looking at the movie, you'd expect good-old-comedy but I'm really impressed that they managed to insert poignant moments impactfully and yet not overdoing it. The part where the Caretaker died was awesomely crafted to tug your heart strings.
Catch this if you haven't watched it =)

3. Elliot + Katharine (after Chris was tragically out)
Notice all 3 dreams are dashed, crushed and never going to happen.
Notice the one guy I didn't mention who is in the finals is probably the one who will win this season.

Shine - Shannon Noll
Get up, get out, get out, get out and lift your head
Come on, come on, get up out of bed
Today's the day you hold the world with your song
Go now, go now, go now, help escalate
Angels come down, help with this parade
To hear your voice ring out
Come on and shout it
Let your song be heard
This is the time
This is the day that we've been waiting for
All the world will stop to watch you shine
Hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now sing your hymn
This is the new national anthem
We will all stand on guard to let you be heard
Let go, let go, let go all the cannons
How beautiful this world has become
Now everyone will see what I believe
That these words should be sung
This is the time
This is the day that we've been waiting for
All the world will stop to watch you shine
This is the time
This is the day that we've been waiting for
All the world believes that you will shine
And if you fall
And if you fall
And if you trust then
Yes it will come true
Hey, hey Yeah!
This is the time
This is the day that we've been waiting for
All the world will stop to watch you shine
This is the time
This is the day that we've been waiting for
When all the world will stop to watch you shine
Oh my gosh! Thanks SOOOOOO much Tham!! This song is one of my favourites. Upbeat. Positive. Catchy. Puts me in a REALLY good mood. Thanks again! ^_^

SNOW
It seems like my favourites are getting kicked out of competitions one by one. First Chris, now Snow!
I must say, Snow totally rocked at her audition for So You Think You Can Dance. She is one unique heck of a dancer. How do I explain her being in the bottom few couples for 3 consecutive weeks?
I can't.
Even in her last hip hop item, she danced better than Ryan whom I expected to do well at hip-hop.
And speaking about Ryan, I've got nothing against Allan but I'm sure glad that Ryan is still in the competition instead of Allan. He is another unique and very likeable guy. His hair is AMAZINGly cool!
Watching this show while knowing who's the winner is pretty interesting. I'm scrutinising everything the winner does to try and figure out why that person won. So far I can tell that the person's good at dance technique, likeable and says just the right, cute things that no doubt Americans adore. Haha..no spoilers here. I tried so hard not to mention the winner's sex =P
The Prime Minister has declared that he is boycotting this show just because Snow's out. Aiks.
Adios Snow. It's been great watching you groove on stage =)

Announcement!
Date : 12/5/06 (Vesak Day/Country XXXXX's Independence Day)
Time : Anytime just hop on over (dinner at 8pm)
Place : Country XXXXX
Event : Potluck!
Thanks to the super photogenic girl who came up with the idea for this event!
It was a blast! Although organising these kinds of things almost always give you headaches, this time I had nothing but FUN gearing up for this event! =)
It;s funny how we thought at first that we wouldn't have enough food to fill everyone's hungry bellies and in the end we had WAY too much food. Lolz.
Scrumptious curry with bread, delicious fried rice, sinful nutella bananas, tasty fried finger food, sweet tapioca cake, yummy mash potato (I'm running out of food descriptions..haha), beehoon, otah, ice-cream floats and expertly cut fruits! We were so bloated; we looked at the food helplessly thinking how to finish??!!!
Too bad we had a slight disaster with the dessert. It all went down the toilet bowl in the end with a video to document it. Better luck next time, photogenic gal!
Needless to say our country (apartment) was packed full. Pity those who slept 3 on a mattress. Ouch.
*sigh of contentment*
It really was exciting, from the planning, co-coordinating, shopping, setting up, cooking eating, chatting, photo-taking and even clearing up! Haha..now our kitchen area is so spick and span that I can hardly believe it, thanks to our combined gotong-royong. With *ahem* much appreciated help from our guests as well =)
And while munching on the glorious food, guess what I realized?
Every single ASEAN scholar in the apartment has lived in DHSH before! What a coincidence,
13 people altogether in the apartment last night went through the same hostel. Freaky! =P
Our country is SERIOUSLY a
tourism hub.
Can't wait for our next get-together! =)

Aiks..I came back home yesterday just to find out that my ABSOLUTE favourite Chris has been kicked off American Idol!! Argh..80% of the reason why I've been following this show like a die-hard and now he's GONE ='(
The Minister of Defence and Security knew who was going to be kicked before Ryan Seacrest announced it. Argh. The agony. I begged her not to tell me while I tried guessing. I came to the conclusion (more like gut feeling) that Chris is going to be out.
She looked me in the eye and said:"Why are you so sure its him?"
Argh..that gave me a glimmer of hope..just to be crushed..my gut feel was too strong. Ryan sure didn't waste any time announcing the death sentence.
Adios Chris. Its been great hearing you sing =)

It is unbelievable!
SAJC vs ACJC
Rugby semi-finalsWE WON!!!How incredibleamazingfantastic is that?!!
I wish I had been there to see it all go down man.
We won by a freaking 3 points..grilled my council junior for the details..it seems the rugby team defended well at the last few mins to keep that
CRUCIAL 3 points lead.
Oh my gosh oh my gosh!!!!!
Am still high from hearing the news ^_^
Our first finals in 17 years!Imagine that.
Against RJC. Another strong power in the rugby scene.
Victory excitement aside, AC must be devastated.
Especially since they are the defending champions and have been for many many years. Believe me, the feeling of losing at the last few minutes with such a super small margin is really crushing, like last year when we were up against RJ in the semis. I'd rather not relive the memory.
In the end, after such defeats, the only thing you can take heart in is the drive of the team, the strong fight they put up and of course the school spirit.
Ah..the Saints' spirit that I have felt before in my JC days is indescribable.
It is out of this world =)
I guess that is called a sense of belonging.
A sense of unity.
Pardon me,
I am SUPER pro-SA.Oh my gosh.
Let's see what happens in the finals.
May God bless the Saints =)

I wanna

Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is
grow old with youI'll

Build you a fire if the furnace breaks

growing old with youI'll

Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you, feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control
So let me
do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink
I could be the one who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with youWatching this movie as a group..really sweet..this song is stuck in my mind now. The last person I figured who likes this song too..haha..our Minister of Finance =D

Five Things
Tagged by my fellow ECP lover who's gonna be kayaking with me this Sunday! Yay!
Promised to do this when I'm free..well, not exactly free now but let's get this over and done with =P
Five minutes to yourself: how would you spend them, ideally? So many things come to mind..read a book, listen to music, watch TV, get a quick shut-eye, stone, sms a friend or write in my diary.
Five bucks to spend right now; how would you spend it?My lunch. Can't help it, am hungry! =D
Five items in your house you could part with, right now, that you hadn't thought of already?1. A trashy novel (title witheld to prevent any lawsuits coming after me)
2. Spoilt luggage bag (how am I ever going to go back with one less bag?)
3. Broken sandals (Lolz, haven't thrown them yet)
4. Stationery? Oh well, might need them later.
5. Fish and Co manual. Anybody want to quiz me on its menu? Haha =P
Five items you absolutely, positively could never part with in your house?1. Do people count? 5 of them to be exact. Haha..but of course we have to part sooner or later and anyway we part everytime we go to work..this so doesn't count =D
2. My handphone
3. My NEW ******!!
4. My discman
5. My keys
Five words you love?Hmm..tough one, I don't exactly love any words. But I do say "what the.." and "what say.." a lot.
Five people i tag?Nah..no one..later they come hunt me down!
There..finished! Last night I finally saw the Minister of Information and Censorship after ONE WHOLE WEEK! And it was a night where everyone was home. Bridging again =)

*jinxed*
Yesterday was one of those days in my life where everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I don't recall having many of these kind of days though so that's good =P
I was late for work, late for lunch break, late to return from lunch to open the office door.
Buried in paperwork, got lost in Bedok (can't even find KFC-oh my gosh!), waited for someone who never showed up till an hour plus later, bank queue SUPER long (took me quite awhile to find the bank too), got caught in the rain (this was the crowning jinx of my lunch break -_-") and of course overtime.
Just when I thought nothing else could harm me once I was on my way to Orchard in the MRT..
The train stopped.
In between City Hall and Dhoby Ghaut. No idea for what reason. And even though I know 3 languages out of the 4 they used to announce the problem over the PA system, even my extensive language knowledge failed me here for the crowd in the MRT was WAY TOO noisy. And this wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't pressed for time, Cathay wasn't going to wait for me to show up before they start screening the movie.
Seriously, could I BE more jinxed? *the way Chandler says it.Lolz.
I had a good time in Orchard though with the Pandaqueen and my fellow ECP lover =) yup, I had almost forgotten the string of bad luck until..
My sandal broke! In 2 places! Courtesy of the Pandaqueen who stepped on it but I have forgiven her, for she did a pretty good repair job after the 3rd try. Plasters everywhere..haha..lesson learnt,
ALWAYS carry plasters with you for you never know when they might come in handy.
Was mighty glad when I got home safe and sound. Phew..the day is so jinxed that I just couldn't stop laughing at myself and of course my housemates laughed along AT my misfortune =D
And guess what? This morning I woke up earlier for work BUT ended up falling asleep on the bus, overshooting my stop and yup, late again. May this not be another one of those days. Lolz.
